General Operations

Hours of Operation

Mail Services operates from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each weekday. There are no campus mail services on weekends or college designated Holidays.

Window Hours

Mail Services personnel are available during the day for your assistance. Specific hours are posted each semester to allow students to conduct business during non classroom hours.

Mail Room Window Services

  • Stamps and other postage are available for purchase at the mail services window.

  • Envelopes and limited packing supplies are available for purchase at the mail services window.

  • Information for shipping packages via UPS is available by calling or e-mailing Mail Services

Incoming mail

All US mail is picked up by the Mail Services staff daily at 9:00 a.m. . and is placed in the designated mail box by approximately 11 a.m. , depending upon the volume of mail received each day. On-campus mail is sorted and boxed continuously throughout the day.

Campus Departmental mail is distributed to established department mailing locations in the afternoon. Packages and/or letters from private mail carriers will be delivered by the shipping/receiving department to your office upon arrival.

Outgoing Mail is brought to the Needham Post Office at 4pm each weekday. If you have important letters to be mailed, please utilize one of the Post Office locations nearby.

Summer Mail for Students

First class mail will be forwarded. No packages will be forwarded. If no Change of Address form is on file with Mail Services, mail will be returned to sender. Mail other than first class will be recycled. More specific instructions will go out each spring to all students.

Mail for Student Organizations or Clubs

In order to apply for an official Olin College mailbox for your student sponsored organization or club you must contact the Vice President of CORe to see if you are eligible.

Large volumes of outgoing mail

Community members who anticipate sending a larger than normal mailing are asked to contact Mail Services at 781-292-2230. We require this extra notice in order to get your mailing out on time.

Bulk Mailings

Community members utilizing bulk mailings should contact Mail Services at 781-292-2230 for the appropriate processing information.

Business Reply Mail

Community members wishing to use a Business Reply card or envelope in their mailing, should contact Mail Services at 781-292-2230.
